Cena Accident, Kane & his Bag

The obvious theory as to what was in Kane's bag is his mask. After last week's Raw, we threw out possible directions they could be going with his character and the idea of him going back to wearing the mask was definitely one of them. Kane is definitely due a push at this point and it seems like they will probably give it to him as he struggles internally wondering whether his "former self" is alive or dead.

Raw is definitely going back to the "shock tv" idea as they try to increase the overall interest in the product. This is evident by Vince McMahon's stage accident, Kane freaking out, and the JBL/John Cena vehicular homicide stunt that took place at the end of last night's Raw. It was catered to kids, of course, as they are the only ones that would believe in that type of ending. For those that have asked, it was pre-taped prior to Raw and they used camera angles to pull off the stunt. They had to announce immediately that Cena was fine because they still have a pay per view match needed to sell tickets and pay per view buys.

Some RAW News

"Just got home from Raw in Raleigh tonight and wanted to give a few things that probably wasn't seen on TV.

- There were lots of areas blacked off that they had to open up on the 2nd level. The seats I bought had the black trash bags over them and the arena attendants were taking the bags off when I got there. These sections are about 20 seats with 5 rows and they opened about 3 extra of them.

- Dark Match 1- D'Lo Brown defeated Matt Striker with the frog splash. Decent match - probably 5 min or so. D'Lo got a huge pop and did most of the moved he always did.

- Dark Match 2 - Charlie Haas defeated some local dude. Pretty much destroyed him.

- Raw started live in the arena about 8:56ish. The only thing we could figure out was they were on a big delay. I've been to many live televised WWE events before and this has never happened.

- During the CM Punk / Kane Match, the guy beside Cole and the King with a headset jumped up and went all the way around the arena and grabbed a sign from someone that read "SHAVA SHANE." He brought it back and gave it to building security. A few other signs were there, but this was the most notable incident.

- The main event after Raw went off the air has been billed since the draft as Cena and HBK vs. JBL and Jericho. Obviously with the finish of Raw, it wouldn't make sense to have Cena come out and wrestle. So the main event was CM Punk vs. Batista. This match lasted about 2 minutes when CM Punk climbed to the top rope and Batista grabbed him and gave him the Batista Bomb and pinned him.

Big Pops (in order)
1. Cena (I always read about the heat on him and I saw a few people booing, but I would say 85% of the crowd was going nuts for him)
2. HBK
3. Kofi Kingston
4. Batista
5. CM Punk

Biggest Heat
1. JBL
2. Y2J
3. Rhodes and DiBiase

John Cena Update, RAW Dark Main Event & Kane

The storyline from Raw last night is that John Cena was "grazed" by JBL's car and will still be able to wrestle at the Great American Bash pay per vie this Sunday.

In the dark match after RAW this week, Batista squashed CM Punk with a spinebuster for the 3-count in approximately one minute.

A correspondent at the event noted that Kane seemed to receive more crowd reaction than Punk did before their match during the live show, and fans were behind Batista during the dark match main event. Of course this was only a dark match, and it might not be worth reading into it too much regarding the future of Punk’s main event push.

ECW Preview

ECW Preview

As reported on WWE.com over the weekend, The Hardys will reunite for one night only on ECW on Sci Fi this Tuesday night. SmackDown Superstar Jeff Hardy will tag over to the Land of the Extreme to partner up with his brother, United States Champion Matt Hardy, and face off against the WWE Tag Team Champions, The Miz & John Morrison. Titles won't be on the line, but the "Dirt Sheet" duo's self-proclaimed reputation as the best tandem in WWE could be in jeopardy when they confront the team that for years epitomized Extreme.

Meanwhile, ECW Champion Mark Henry has had the Land of the Extreme in the palm of his massive hand, and last Tuesday was no different. The World's Strongest Man took advantage of a distraction by Tony Atlas and Colin Delaney, capitalizing and crushing Tommy Dreamer. The ECW Original and former ECW Champion has not been shy about wanting to prove himself against Henry. Have his days of trying come to an end? Can somebody slow the champion down and prevent him from making the era of Mark Henry virtually permanent?

New Superstar Evan Bourne continues to open eyes with his performances. His convincing win against Nunzio further establishes that he belongs with the extreme competition on Tuesday nights. Braden Walker also had a quick start, defeating Armando Estrada on Tuesday. One week earlier, new Superstar Ricky Ortiz also notched a win in his debut. Is new blood about to start defining the Land of the Extreme?

Also on the last ECW, the rivalry continued to escalate between Finlay & Hornswoggle and the WWE Tag Team Champions. The father-son duo got the last laugh, however, as Finlay topped The Miz in one-on-one competition. Do the Irishmen still pose as a threat to The Miz & John Morrison's titles?

Cena & Cryme Tyme "CTC" Stable Update

CTC seems like it's going to be a stable for sure, now. Cena and Cryme Tyme took on Kane, Cody Rhoades and Ted DiBiase. I thought for sure that Kane would have been JBL instead, it seemed like everyone was surprised when his music hit as JBL was to make an appearance and never did....and it was the main event.

CTC actually did a thing before the match, they bowed and then acted like they were pumping the air while Shad and JTG just had their pointer fingers sticking up Cena had his Word Life fists up. Kinda created CTC with the three of them. Kane left in the middle of the match in a rage and it turns out he was just going to the back to let them know that JTG was injured as many crew members came out after he left and actually CARRIED JTG out. He wasn't touching the floor at all...seems that he was out cold, don't know what happened for sure...I went back on the video I took of the match and it just looked like Kane kicked JTG on the side of the head maybe in the temple. Didn't look like it was a real hard hit...might have been, though.

He says they have history so if they're going to do it one more time, it should be at the Great American Bash.

Cody says when he hears grow up, he thinks of a 54 year old guy in gym shorts coming out here trying to relive his glory days when they weren't all that glorious to begin with, insulting Duggan. DiBiase says he thinks about something Steve Austin once said and that's if you don't think you have what it takes to be a champion then you don't need to be in WWE. Ted asks Duggan if he honestly thinks he can be a champion and tells him to look at himself, putting him down and his character. The crowd pops for Hacksaw. DiBiase says he is pathetic.
